Women's Swimwear by Body Shape: Soft and/or Big Tummies

When summer arrives, the idea of getting away from the office and the house to enjoy the sun on a beach in swimwear should be a cause for joy. For plus-sized women however, the notion of having their excess body fat revealed to the world in swimwear is too much to bear. Heavy women mistakenly believe that no swimwear exists that can make them look good, when the opposite is the case.

Clearly, two-piece swimwear which reveals the midriff should be avoided but this type of swimwear is only the tip of the iceberg. For a start, plus-sized women have varied bodies with some women preferring one body part over the other. A perfect example of this are women who are not happy with their bottom but are confident when showing off their thighs. Swimwear bottoms with a high cut leg will draw attention away from your bottom while making your legs seem longer and sexier.

The most popular type of bathing suit for plus-sized women is tummy control swimwear. As the name suggests, this is swimwear that only shows off the body parts you are comfortable with while creating the illusion of a flatter stomach. They are available in a range of cuts and colours meaning large women are never stuck for choice again.

One-piece swimwear made from Lycra or Spandex is sleek, sexy and comfortable as long as the size is right. Women with pale skin should choose dark swimwear while women with darker skin will always look better in bright coloured outfits. Tummy control swimwear shows off the right curves while keeping the stomach flat and out of view.

The underwire tankini is one of the most popular pieces of swimwear for plus-sized women. It covers the stomach while attracting attention to the chest area thanks to the underwiring which increases the size of the breasts in the eyes of passers-by. Halter top tankinis work in pretty much the same way. The idea of this type of swimwear is to give plus-sized women more choice.

There are also types of swimwear that contain belts which are worn just under the chest. Once again, this will focus all the attention on the breasts while helping flabby stomachs and legs escape the limelight. One final swimwear rule that all plus-size women should live by is to never wear pale coloured outfits. White or metallic swimwear exposes every single flaw and will make you the centre of attention for all the wrong reasons.
